Narrative:

We were cleared to saltn fix to cross at FL240. Approximately 3 mi from saltn we were level at FL240. We were given clearance to cross karro below FL190 and cleared to 17000 ft. Karro is 12 NM from saltn for a total of 15 NM to descend 5000 ft. With choppy air, or without, the crossing could not be made so we advised center we could not make the altitude. So she cleared us to cross at FL200 in which case we were already at the fix at FL217 so the crossing was not made. Center gave us a late descent to be able to make the restr. Speed brakes were deployed immediately upon the start cleared to 12000 ft and had to still use speed brakes to get down. An uneventful landing was made in san.
