Narrative:

The korry 1 arrival is a new procedure into lga and it was my first time flying it, as well as for the captain. It requires one to cross holey at or above 13000 ft then brand at 11000 ft. The distance between these fixes is only 6 mi. This is not enough space to go from level at holey at 13000 ft to level at brand at 11000 ft. Additionally, we had been assigned 320 KIAS. Both speed brakes out and idle descent we were still high at brand and were projecting high at korry at 10000 ft, which is required 5 mi past brand. At this point, we advised ATC and they told us to disregard the restr and descend to 8000 ft. In retrospect, with the speed assignment, we should've advised ATC earlier we couldn't make the restrs. We flew this same arrival the next day. Even with no speed restr, it requires aggressive maneuvering of the aircraft to make these restrs, and is impossible in 'managed' flight which is the preferred method for flying this aircraft type. This procedure/arrival needs to be reworked.

Title: AN A321 CREW, DSNDING INTO LGA, WERE UNABLE TO MAKE PUBLISHED STAR XING RESTR.

Narrative: THE KORRY 1 ARR IS A NEW PROC INTO LGA AND IT WAS MY FIRST TIME FLYING IT, AS WELL AS FOR THE CAPT. IT REQUIRES ONE TO CROSS HOLEY AT OR ABOVE 13000 FT THEN BRAND AT 11000 FT. THE DISTANCE BTWN THESE FIXES IS ONLY 6 MI. THIS IS NOT ENOUGH SPACE TO GO FROM LEVEL AT HOLEY AT 13000 FT TO LEVEL AT BRAND AT 11000 FT. ADDITIONALLY, WE HAD BEEN ASSIGNED 320 KIAS. BOTH SPD BRAKES OUT AND IDLE DSCNT WE WERE STILL HIGH AT BRAND AND WERE PROJECTING HIGH AT KORRY AT 10000 FT, WHICH IS REQUIRED 5 MI PAST BRAND. AT THIS POINT, WE ADVISED ATC AND THEY TOLD US TO DISREGARD THE RESTR AND DSND TO 8000 FT. IN RETROSPECT, WITH THE SPD ASSIGNMENT, WE SHOULD'VE ADVISED ATC EARLIER WE COULDN'T MAKE THE RESTRS. WE FLEW THIS SAME ARR THE NEXT DAY. EVEN WITH NO SPD RESTR, IT REQUIRES AGGRESSIVE MANEUVERING OF THE ACFT TO MAKE THESE RESTRS, AND IS IMPOSSIBLE IN 'MANAGED' FLT WHICH IS THE PREFERRED METHOD FOR FLYING THIS ACFT TYPE. THIS PROC/ARR NEEDS TO BE REWORKED.
