Narrative:

Before departure, crew received final aircraft takeoff weight as 404355 pounds. After departure, our dispatcher contacted us and reported that a ground handler accidentally loaded a container that he wasn't supposed to. He advised that actual takeoff gross was 407869 pounds --869 pounds over maximum allowable. Flight crew had no way to know of this situation. No adverse aircraft handling problems.

Title: FLC OF A B767-300 EXCEEDED GROSS TKOF WT DUE TO A GND HANDLER LOADING OF AN UNAUTH CONTAINER. COMPANY DISPATCHER NOTIFIED THE CREW AFTER DEP OF THE ERROR. THE CREW DID NOT EXPERIENCE ANY ABNORMAL ACFT CTL.
