Narrative:
On departure, cae departure control reported traffic which we visually acquired and were able to visually avoid. I misjudged the distance closing to within 1 NM of the other aircraft.

Title: FLC IN MD88 TAKING OFF FROM CAE ARPT WERE ISSUED TFC BY DEP CTL. FLC SAW THE TFC BUT THE PF MISJUDGED THE DISTANCE AND CAME CLOSER THAN EXPECTED FROM THE OTHER ACFT.
Narrative: ON DEP, CAE DEP CTL RPTED TFC WHICH WE VISUALLY ACQUIRED AND WERE ABLE TO VISUALLY AVOID. I MISJUDGED THE DISTANCE CLOSING TO WITHIN 1 NM OF THE OTHER ACFT.
