Narrative:
Flight landed on runway 4L at iln and cleared the runway at taxiway A2. I thought I had taxi clearance to taxi to parking spot ab. I called for the after landing checklist and turned onto a taxiway (parallel to runway 4L). At this time, the first officer called ground control for taxi instructions. I then realized I had not received taxi clearance and immediately stopped the aircraft.

Narrative: FLT LANDED ON RWY 4L AT ILN AND CLRED THE RWY AT TXWY A2. I THOUGHT I HAD TAXI CLRNC TO TAXI TO PARKING SPOT AB. I CALLED FOR THE AFTER LNDG CHKLIST AND TURNED ONTO A TXWY (PARALLEL TO RWY 4L). AT THIS TIME, THE FO CALLED GND CTL FOR TAXI INSTRUCTIONS. I THEN REALIZED I HAD NOT RECEIVED TAXI CLRNC AND IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE ACFT.
