Narrative:

The aircraft was cleared into position and hold (runway 26). A takeoff clearance was given which we acknowledged, 'cleared for takeoff, aircraft X.' we departed, after which tower told us we had taken off without a clearance. The clearance they had given was for 2 F18's on another runway (runway 21). The clearance for the F18's was immediately canceled and no conflict occurred. Tower was broadcasting on both UHF and VHF -- we were on VHF while the F18's were on UHF. Tower may have been able to acknowledge our transmission in which we read back a takeoff clearance (with our n-number) but they may not have heard us if the F18's acknowledged at the same time. The F18 takeoff clearance was canceled only after we started to roll. Tower did not respond to our transmission.

Title: ATCT CTLR AT NID HAD SIMULTANEOUS BROADCAST AND RECEIVE ON VHF AND UHF. WHEN THE CTLR ISSUED A TKOF CLRNC TO 2 F18'S ON UHF, A GA TURBOJET ON A DIFFERENT RWY AND ON VHF ALSO ACKNOWLEDGE AND MADE AN UNAUTH TKOF.

Narrative: THE ACFT WAS CLRED INTO POS AND HOLD (RWY 26). A TKOF CLRNC WAS GIVEN WHICH WE ACKNOWLEDGED, 'CLRED FOR TKOF, ACFT X.' WE DEPARTED, AFTER WHICH TWR TOLD US WE HAD TAKEN OFF WITHOUT A CLRNC. THE CLRNC THEY HAD GIVEN WAS FOR 2 F18'S ON ANOTHER RWY (RWY 21). THE CLRNC FOR THE F18'S WAS IMMEDIATELY CANCELED AND NO CONFLICT OCCURRED. TWR WAS BROADCASTING ON BOTH UHF AND VHF -- WE WERE ON VHF WHILE THE F18'S WERE ON UHF. TWR MAY HAVE BEEN ABLE TO ACKNOWLEDGE OUR XMISSION IN WHICH WE READ BACK A TKOF CLRNC (WITH OUR N-NUMBER) BUT THEY MAY NOT HAVE HEARD US IF THE F18'S ACKNOWLEDGED AT THE SAME TIME. THE F18 TKOF CLRNC WAS CANCELED ONLY AFTER WE STARTED TO ROLL. TWR DID NOT RESPOND TO OUR XMISSION.
