Narrative:

On approach into key west, lowered gear and observed no green light on left main. Tested lights and horn, found no other indication that gear was not down and locked. Saw gear visually out of window. Called dispatch and informed him of situation. Decision made to divert to mia for longer runway and better crash fire rescue equipment equipment. Emergency declared, cabin prepared for emergency landing. Landing accomplished on runway 9R mia without incident. Upon exiting runway based on knowledge of mechanical downlock of BE1900 gear system, taxied to gate at minimum speed with minimal braking and no sharp turns. Supplemental information from acn 410915: passenger xferred to another aircraft. Remained in mia till returned to service by mechanic -- replacement of bulb.
