Narrative:

Regional approach control (119.4) cleared us to descend from 5000 ft to 4000 ft on localizer. Descending through 4200 ft, TCASII RA occurred for wbound cessna traffic crossing the localizer. At 3500 ft, also working with regional approach complied with RA, traffic was 300 ft below us and less than 2 mi horizontal. Supplemental information from acn 410786: approach had called traffic, a wbound cessna at 3500 ft at 2-3 O'clock position. Through 4200 ft we got a TCASII RA to climb 2000-2500 FPM. We complied with the RA, first officer flying, and advised approach control. We never saw the traffic and ATC confirmed they were controling the cessna. We suspect separation was 300 ft vertical and less than 2 mi horizontal at the closest point during the RA maneuver.
