Narrative:

Captain informed us of a problem and that we would have to land. He kept us updated at all times. No evacuate/evacuation was necessary, but we stood by because of hot brakes. All passenger were calm because captain kept them informed as things happened. The situation could not have been handled better. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that the nature of the mechanical problem was engine #1 shutdown due to oil filter clog. The aircraft diverted to santo domingo where the aircraft was taken OTS. The crew continued on with the flight with another aircraft.

Title: AT CRUISE ONBOARD A300, FLC DECLARED EMER, SHUT DOWN ENG AND DIVERTED DUE TO #1 ENG OIL CLOG WARNING LIGHT. ACFT WAS TAKEN OTS.

Narrative: CAPT INFORMED US OF A PROB AND THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO LAND. HE KEPT US UPDATED AT ALL TIMES. NO EVAC WAS NECESSARY, BUT WE STOOD BY BECAUSE OF HOT BRAKES. ALL PAX WERE CALM BECAUSE CAPT KEPT THEM INFORMED AS THINGS HAPPENED. THE SIT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN HANDLED BETTER. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT THE NATURE OF THE MECHANICAL PROB WAS ENG #1 SHUTDOWN DUE TO OIL FILTER CLOG. THE ACFT DIVERTED TO SANTO DOMINGO WHERE THE ACFT WAS TAKEN OTS. THE CREW CONTINUED ON WITH THE FLT WITH ANOTHER ACFT.
