Narrative:

On jul/xy/98, aircraft xyz arrived ZZZ with the center ILS malfunctioning. I failed to check the MEL to find out if the problem in question could have been deferred. Instead, I contacted the zyz technical services, explained the problem and requested an authority/authorized number for the center ILS and the lower minimum program. Auths received and items were deferred in the aircraft maintenance logbook.
