Narrative:
Tower asked us if we have a problem because they saw smoke come from the left landing gear. We said no and we had no indications in the cockpit. While we were waiting to cross runway 4, I saw fire trucks approaching. I asked tower if they were coming to us. They said yes (they forgot to tell me). Firemen inspected -- no problem! We inspected at the gate -- nothing. We had no indication so we didn't write up a problem. We do not know what they saw.
