Narrative:

On taxi in to santo domingo, the male passenger in seat XXX stood up and opened the overhead bin and started to remove his luggage. I went up and closed the overhead bin and told him he had to remain seated with his seatbelt fastened. By the time I went back to my jump seat he was up again. I went up to him again and told him we were on an active taxiway, closed the overhead bin and asked him to be seated. The #3 and #7 flight attendants at 3L and 3R also stood up and told him to be seated. He refused and a flight attendant called the purser. The purser came back and told him all the safety regulations. The passenger still would not situation down. The purser told the passenger he was going to call security and turned around and walked to the front of the aircraft. The passenger then ran from row XXX to row AAA and punched the purser in the back of the head, knocking him to the floor and continued to punch him until the #4 flight attendant at door 2R pulled the passenger off the purser. The male passenger started to go after the flight attendant but by this time other passenger interceded. The passenger was then dragged back down the aisle to row XXX still screaming that his necklace was broken and shouting obscenities. He still would not situation down and he kept yelling he didn't care. His traveling companion took a few punches at him to make him situation down and shut up. At the gate, 6 security men came on board and arrested him. What caused this? The passenger was drunk. A flight attendant said she had served him 6 different drinks during the beverage service: baileys, gin, J&B, etc. During the meal service he had 2 more J&B's and after the meal service 2 more. His seat mate helped him consume the liquor but I guess it just hit him more. Also, the flight attendant might have mentioned this earlier on the flight. The flight attendant thought he was just collecting bottles. Supplemental information from acn 406498: upon arrival, passenger was arrested by auths in sdq. Charges filed with local police.
