Narrative:

After takeoff at mco, assigned 8000 ft. Climbing through 7000 ft with rate of climb at 4000-6000 FPM, aircraft passed through 8000 ft while attempting to level off. Reached 8300 ft with conflicting traffic at 9000 ft. Returned to 8000 ft as traffic passed at 9000 ft. Both controller and TCASII responded immediately. Convective conditions contributed to excessive climb rate. Overall problem -- did not anticipate leveloff soon enough.
