Narrative:

The IFR charts for sac have shown 118.8 as the approach control frequency for as long as I can remember. 118.8 has not been used at sac for at least 10 yrs! Approach is usually 125.25 and occasionally 125.6. This is confusing for transient pilots and should be changed. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that he believes the frequency was changed because bfl used the same frequency and there was sometimes a bleed over on the frequency which created confusion. The local pilots know the correct frequency by this time but a transient pilot would not be able to contact anyone on the 118.8 frequency which is listed.

Title: FLT SCHOOL INSTRUCTOR INDICATES A WRONG APCH CTL FREQ ON THE SAC CHARTS. THE FREQ WAS CHANGED ABOUT 10 YRS AGO BUT IS STILL PUBLISHED.

Narrative: THE IFR CHARTS FOR SAC HAVE SHOWN 118.8 AS THE APCH CTL FREQ FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER. 118.8 HAS NOT BEEN USED AT SAC FOR AT LEAST 10 YRS! APCH IS USUALLY 125.25 AND OCCASIONALLY 125.6. THIS IS CONFUSING FOR TRANSIENT PLTS AND SHOULD BE CHANGED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THAT HE BELIEVES THE FREQ WAS CHANGED BECAUSE BFL USED THE SAME FREQ AND THERE WAS SOMETIMES A BLEED OVER ON THE FREQ WHICH CREATED CONFUSION. THE LCL PLTS KNOW THE CORRECT FREQ BY THIS TIME BUT A TRANSIENT PLT WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO CONTACT ANYONE ON THE 118.8 FREQ WHICH IS LISTED.
