Narrative:

Miscom between PNF and approach control. On descent into slc, several vectors, speed and descent restrs were given due to traffic separation requirements. On handoff to approach, PNF gave wrong center restr information to approach. Approach was confused as it appeared to him that we had not made a restr when indeed we had. Due to other radio traffic, I was unable to clarify the situation on the radio. Unnecessary confusion was caused by PNF being situationally unaware. Self induced confusion caused by lack of situational awareness. PNF was counseled on proper radio techniques.

Title: A PIC RPT ON HIS CONFUSED FO AND THE RESULTING CONFUSION AS PASSED ONTO SLC APCH CTLR REGARDING PREVIOUS ARTCC CTR RESTRS.

Narrative: MISCOM BTWN PNF AND APCH CTL. ON DSCNT INTO SLC, SEVERAL VECTORS, SPD AND DSCNT RESTRS WERE GIVEN DUE TO TFC SEPARATION REQUIREMENTS. ON HDOF TO APCH, PNF GAVE WRONG CTR RESTR INFO TO APCH. APCH WAS CONFUSED AS IT APPEARED TO HIM THAT WE HAD NOT MADE A RESTR WHEN INDEED WE HAD. DUE TO OTHER RADIO TFC, I WAS UNABLE TO CLARIFY THE SIT ON THE RADIO. UNNECESSARY CONFUSION WAS CAUSED BY PNF BEING SITUATIONALLY UNAWARE. SELF INDUCED CONFUSION CAUSED BY LACK OF SITUATIONAL AWARENESS. PNF WAS COUNSELED ON PROPER RADIO TECHNIQUES.
