Narrative:

Xyz was a passenger in cabin. She had just completed a cruise with her husband on the cruise line. Other passenger from that cruise told us 200+ people were sick with a viral infection on that voyage. Xyz saw a doctor 3 times on her vacation -- not feeling well. Her husband also told us she was a diabetic. I mention this to suggest xyz was not healthy enough to fly. About 2 hours into our flight from mia to lax, the #6 flight attendant was at row xx and noticed xyz's face as 'white as a sheet.' when she inquired about her, her husband said she wasn't feeling well. The flight attendant shook her and there was no response. Immediately, the flight attendant got her to the floor and began cpr (as there was no breath or pulse). Another flight attendant called me in the galley regarding the emergency. I brought back the first aid and the medical kit, the #3 flight attendant brought the laeradel mask. When we got back to xyz, a doctor had stepped in to help with the resuscitation effort. He used the airways from the medical kit (we did not have a defibrillator on this particular plane -- the doctor said though, it wouldn't have helped us by the point xyz was at when found). After about 30 mins of cpr, the doctor declared xyz dead. We then cleared a row of seats to place the corpse, covered her with a blanket and buckled her in. I then called for a clergy on board and began following procedures outlined in our safety manual. About 40 mins from this incident, we made an unscheduled landing in dfw where emergency medical technicians came on board. There was no resuscitation effort made as she had clearly passed away. A police report was made with the flight attendant who performed cpr on xyz. Then xyz was taken off with her husband, cared for by ground special services.

Narrative: XYZ WAS A PAX IN CABIN. SHE HAD JUST COMPLETED A CRUISE WITH HER HUSBAND ON THE CRUISE LINE. OTHER PAX FROM THAT CRUISE TOLD US 200+ PEOPLE WERE SICK WITH A VIRAL INFECTION ON THAT VOYAGE. XYZ SAW A DOCTOR 3 TIMES ON HER VACATION -- NOT FEELING WELL. HER HUSBAND ALSO TOLD US SHE WAS A DIABETIC. I MENTION THIS TO SUGGEST XYZ WAS NOT HEALTHY ENOUGH TO FLY. THE FLT ATTENDANT SHOOK HER AND THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. IMMEDIATELY, THE FLT ATTENDANT GOT HER TO THE FLOOR AND BEGAN CPR (AS THERE WAS NO BREATH OR PULSE). ANOTHER FLT ATTENDANT CALLED ME IN THE GALLEY REGARDING THE EMER. I BROUGHT BACK THE FIRST AID AND THE MEDICAL KIT, THE #3 FLT ATTENDANT BROUGHT THE LAERADEL MASK. WE THEN CLRED A ROW OF SEATS TO PLACE THE CORPSE, COVERED HER WITH A BLANKET AND BUCKLED HER IN. I THEN CALLED FOR A CLERGY ON BOARD AND BEGAN FOLLOWING PROCS OUTLINED IN OUR SAFETY MANUAL. ABOUT 40 MINS FROM THIS INCIDENT, WE MADE AN UNSCHEDULED LNDG IN DFW WHERE EMER MEDICAL TECHNICIANS CAME ON BOARD. THERE WAS NO RESUSCITATION EFFORT MADE AS SHE HAD CLRLY PASSED AWAY. A POLICE RPT WAS MADE WITH THE FLT ATTENDANT WHO PERFORMED CPR ON XYZ. THEN XYZ WAS TAKEN OFF WITH HER HUSBAND, CARED FOR BY GND SPECIAL SVCS.
