Narrative:

While being vectored to the ILS runway 27 ipt we had what turned out to be a false GPWS warning. This happened at 4100 ft in level flight just as we were getting clearance to join the localizer and do the approach. We complied with the 'pull up' command however we climbed to 6000 ft in a very short time. ATC was informed and we were vectored for another approach to runway 27, which was uneventful. In the future I think it would be wise to comply with the warning even if it is false but to also not overreact because we were in fact several thousand feet above the ground.
