Narrative:

I was on an IFR instrument flight plan from columbia, sc, to mrh, when I canceled IFR over the ilm VOR to go the rest of the way VFR. The myrtle beach airport control suggested following the beach up its coast to mrh which I did and tried to stay 3 mi offshore. When I checked in with cherry point approach control on 124.1 they said I had violated their airspace at R-5306C. I had misjudged the distance offshore of my aircraft relative to the 3 mi limit. At this point they gave me vectors to go east out to sea and then a vector back to the northwest to get to mrh. I was instructed to call the cherry point controller supervisor which I did upon landing and apologized for the inadvertent incursion into their airspace.
