Narrative:

The current airport page for sdf, louisville, ky, shows an unnamed taxiway north of and parallel to taxiway J. Turns out this is a cargo ramp that no longer goes through to taxiway B. It could be a misleading one way trap if someone coming off of the west side gates is told to taxi to runway 17R without being told 'via txwys J, G, and B.' the airport needs to be resurveyed and the chart updated. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that the aircraft was a B737 and he is used to receiving practically a full route clearance when issued taxi instructions at lga. This simplified taxi clearance left the flight crew looking at the airport diagram for the shortest route to runway 17R. He was tempted to take the route via the unmarked taxiway but noticed loose dirt between the ramp and the continuation of the taxiway and opted for taxiway J instead. Reporter is a safety representative for his company and very conscious about safety issues such as this. He is most concerned that an aircraft will get trapped into thinking this is a viable taxi route.

Title: B737 FLC SIGHTS A TXWY UNMARKED ON THE ARPT DIAGRAM WHICH APPEARS TO LEAD TO THE RWY. IN REALITY THERE IS NO THROUGH RTE, THE TXWY LEADS TO A CARGO RAMP AND AN ACFT COULD GET TRAPPED IN THE AREA.

Narrative: THE CURRENT ARPT PAGE FOR SDF, LOUISVILLE, KY, SHOWS AN UNNAMED TXWY NORTH OF AND PARALLEL TO TXWY J. TURNS OUT THIS IS A CARGO RAMP THAT NO LONGER GOES THROUGH TO TXWY B. IT COULD BE A MISLEADING ONE WAY TRAP IF SOMEONE COMING OFF OF THE W SIDE GATES IS TOLD TO TAXI TO RWY 17R WITHOUT BEING TOLD 'VIA TXWYS J, G, AND B.' THE ARPT NEEDS TO BE RESURVEYED AND THE CHART UPDATED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THAT THE ACFT WAS A B737 AND HE IS USED TO RECEIVING PRACTICALLY A FULL RTE CLRNC WHEN ISSUED TAXI INSTRUCTIONS AT LGA. THIS SIMPLIFIED TAXI CLRNC LEFT THE FLC LOOKING AT THE ARPT DIAGRAM FOR THE SHORTEST RTE TO RWY 17R. HE WAS TEMPTED TO TAKE THE RTE VIA THE UNMARKED TXWY BUT NOTICED LOOSE DIRT BTWN THE RAMP AND THE CONTINUATION OF THE TXWY AND OPTED FOR TXWY J INSTEAD. RPTR IS A SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE FOR HIS COMPANY AND VERY CONSCIOUS ABOUT SAFETY ISSUES SUCH AS THIS. HE IS MOST CONCERNED THAT AN ACFT WILL GET TRAPPED INTO THINKING THIS IS A VIABLE TAXI RTE.
