Narrative:

I had made an appointment with my mechanic to perform some maintenance on my aircraft. I obtained taxi instructions from ground control and proceeded to taxi at 1000 RPM from my tie-down spot on the west side of the airport to the east side of the airport. I exited the controled taxiway and proceeded to taxi on the centerline to my mechanic's hangar. I noticed the new hangar construction on my left; but held the centerline. 1/2 way to the turn to my mechanic's hangar; I contacted my left wing about 1 ft from the tip. The force pivoted the aircraft to the left causing the propeller to contact some construction material on the ground. There were no flags or cones on the crane. When a crane or other object is in the way that will not allow an aircraft to pass safely; there should be construction personnel waving the aircraft away.
