Narrative:
As I was flying through the canyon on the way to mso, I saw a hang glider on the runway at elliot field, a grass strip near clinton, mt. I was unaware of hang glider operations in the area and wonder if there would be a way that a notification to pilots in the area could be accomplished. Hang gliders and paragliders operate over the hills just east of missoula, and parachute operations take place at stevensville airport, south of mso. When these operations are in progress, there is a notification to pilots via the ATIS system at missoula.

Narrative: AS I WAS FLYING THROUGH THE CANYON ON THE WAY TO MSO, I SAW A HANG GLIDER ON THE RWY AT ELLIOT FIELD, A GRASS STRIP NEAR CLINTON, MT. I WAS UNAWARE OF HANG GLIDER OPS IN THE AREA AND WONDER IF THERE WOULD BE A WAY THAT A NOTIFICATION TO PLTS IN THE AREA COULD BE ACCOMPLISHED. HANG GLIDERS AND PARAGLIDERS OPERATE OVER THE HILLS JUST E OF MISSOULA, AND PARACHUTE OPS TAKE PLACE AT STEVENSVILLE ARPT, S OF MSO. WHEN THESE OPS ARE IN PROGRESS, THERE IS A NOTIFICATION TO PLTS VIA THE ATIS SYS AT MISSOULA.
