Narrative:
We crossed shown intersection at 11800 ft instead of 11000 ft as assigned by ATC. We were descending at 2000 FPM and arrived at 11000 ft just a few seconds past shown intersection. We descended slowly at first, the PF was a new first officer and was just a little slow in starting his descent. We increased our descent rate with speed brakes and a small increase in IAS.
