Narrative:

After receiving clearance for takeoff prior to spool up of engines, an aft cargo door light was noticed illuminated. An aircraft was cleared to land on runway 24L so we taxied clear of runway. When clear we noted cargo light extinguished. We tested door light system with satisfactory check and received clearance for takeoff and took off. No discrepancy was logged as this is an ordinary occurrence of proximity switch system. The tower reported an aborted takeoff and it was subsequently questioned whether a mechanical discrepancy should have been logged. There is a gray area in interping the regulation.
