Narrative:

Thunderstorms in area, ride smooth, radar showed cell to right of course. Briefed approach, missed approach and windshear procedures, good thing. Inside marker on runway 9R slowing to 140 KTS, got red windshear light and aural warning. Firewall power and went around. Gave PIREP to tower. Approximately 30 KT loss of airspeed. Had a hard time talking to tower. Several aircraft went around. Switched to approach control on our own. Tower was not responding despite repeated calls. Came back around for another landing and uneventful shutdown. Tower needed to either switch us to approach or give vectors. Too much confusion.
