Narrative:

On climb to 16000 ft cleared altitude, captain (PF) overshot cleared altitude by approximately 250 ft. There were no comments from ATC. PNF commented that he thought I was in the process of leveling at 16000 ft, even though my rate of climb was somewhat high approaching 16000 ft. I had actually been distracted and was thinking about another subject at the time. This was the first time this crew had ever flown together. Supplemental information from acn 390861: in speaking with the captain afterward, he told me that he had become distracted at the critical moment (leveloff), with an issue concerning the so. For my part, I feel that I should have seen this coming. He is well known, well liked and respected. Perhaps, I felt comfortable to the point of complacency.
