Narrative:

During holding, we noticed the left oil pressure fluctuating and left oil cap flickering. We performed the emergency oil cap checklist followed by an in-flight engine shutdown. We discussed landing and decided fat would be safer due to straight-line vector along with crew familiarity, which in turn reduced pilot workload. Bakersfield was our other possibility, but would require as much time as fat due to altitude and multiple vectors. Additionally, we were unfamiliar with bakersfield. Upon arrival in fat, our chief pilot agreed with our decision.

Title: AN ACR BA32 FLC HAD TO SHUT DOWN THE L ENG DUE TO A LOW OIL PRESSURE AND LOSS INDICATION OVER EHF. THEY MADE A SUCCESSFUL LNDG AT FAT.

BAKERSFIELD WAS OUR OTHER POSSIBILITY, BUT WOULD REQUIRE AS MUCH TIME AS FAT DUE TO ALT AND MULTIPLE VECTORS. ADDITIONALLY, WE WERE UNFAMILIAR WITH BAKERSFIELD. UPON ARR IN FAT, OUR CHIEF PLT AGREED WITH OUR DECISION.
