Narrative:

Flight left jan for stl with the right engine B fire detection loop placarded inoperative. Takeoff and climb to cruise altitude of FL330 was normal. Approaching mem at cruise altitude, the right fire warning light started flashing on and off with no other indication of a problem. We told ATC that we were changing our destination to mem. Power was reduced to idle on both engines during descent. Descent, approach and landing in mem were normal. After landing and taxiing clear of runway 18L, the right engine was secured and fire equipment personnel were asked to inspect our right engine. They reported no sign of any problem. Flight then taxied to the gate.
