Narrative:

Passing through 3000 ft we set climb power and got a fire warning on the #2 engine. We then performed the emergency checklist, descended to 4000 ft and were cleared for a visual approach to runway 31R at jfk. Landed and taxied to gate without further incident.

Narrative: PASSING THROUGH 3000 FT WE SET CLB PWR AND GOT A FIRE WARNING ON THE #2 ENG. WE THEN PERFORMED THE EMER CHKLIST, DSNDED TO 4000 FT AND WERE CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 31R AT JFK. LANDED AND TAXIED TO GATE WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.
