Narrative:

Aircraft was cleared to taxi via ground taxiway a intersection runway 1. Being in a relatively new type aircraft, I taxied very slowly maintaining centerline of taxiway. Being unfamiliar with airport and at nighttime, we (myself and owner of aircraft) did not see hold short line and had stopped short (10 ft) before runway 1. Upon contacting control tower, we were informed that we were on an active runway. I informed control tower was unaware and apologized. Being cleared for takeoff, upon climb out control tower asked for PIC name and address.
