Narrative:
Cleared by approach to crane intersection and join the runway 25L localizer. Our flight was then cleared to 10000 ft and 210 KIAS. Shortly afterwards received a TCASII TA. Traffic appeared at 12 O'clock position and the same altitude. About 5 seconds later received an RA with command to descend. A descent and turn was accomplished about the same time ATC gave us a warning of unknown traffic at 12 O'clock position at 10000 ft. A descent to 8700 ft was accomplished before a 'clear of conflict' advisory was received. Traffic passed by our left side and slightly above. Continued approach at 9000 ft.

TFC APPEARED AT 12 O'CLOCK POS AND THE SAME ALT. ABOUT 5 SECONDS LATER RECEIVED AN RA WITH COMMAND TO DSND. A DSCNT AND TURN WAS ACCOMPLISHED ABOUT THE SAME TIME ATC GAVE US A WARNING OF UNKNOWN TFC AT 12 O'CLOCK POS AT 10000 FT. A DSCNT TO 8700 FT WAS ACCOMPLISHED BEFORE A 'CLR OF CONFLICT' ADVISORY WAS RECEIVED. TFC PASSED BY OUR L SIDE AND SLIGHTLY ABOVE. CONTINUED APCH AT 9000 FT.
