Narrative:

As we approached runway 18L we were told by tulsa tower to turn into the hold pad to let an airplane takeoff which was behind us. I then followed that airplane to the runway as no other airplanes were in sight. I realize now I had taxied to the runway without proper clearance. I will avoid making this mistake in the future by following ATC clrncs and not following what I assume ATC wants us to do.
