Narrative:

Cleared for ILS runway 23L then asked to sidestep to runway 23R at about 100 ft AGL which prevented a brief of what taxiway to expect to roll out to. During hard reverse thrust, we were told to hold short of runway 23L. I was aware that the runways were close together so I taxied very slowly to exit runway 23R and was looking for the hold short lines. They were not where I expected to find them and I realized I had crossed them by at least 5 ft and I stopped. A jet then landed on runway 23L and cleared the runway. We were told to cross runway 23L and follow the jet. Tower or ground never mentioned it so I called on the phone to see if we were in trouble. They replied, 'no one in here knows anything about any problem with your flight, have a nice day!' there was no action taken. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter said that the hold line for runway 23L is too close to runway 23R. He said that he would not have cleared runway 23R if he had held short of the runway 23L hold line. According to this jetstream 32 captain, the controller that he called after the incident said the tower is aware of the problem, but the runways are simply too close to each other. The captain also reported the incident to his chief pilot and requested that the chief pilot put out a notice concerning the problem. The chief pilot showed him a notice that he put out approximately 1 yr ago on this subject. The reporter said that he found this somewhat embarrassing and he has put the bulletin to the others in his flight manual.

Title: THE FLC OF AN ACR BA32 WERE INSTRUCTED TO TURN OFF OF RWY 23R, BUT HOLD SHORT OF RWY 23L. THEY FOUND THAT IN ORDER TO CLR RWY 23R THEY HAD TO CROSS THE HOLD LINE FOR RWY 23L SINCE THAT HOLD LINE IS VERY NEAR THE TURNOFF AREA AND THE ACFT TAIL WOULD HAVE EXTENDED OVER THE EDGE OF RWY 23R IF THEY HAD STOPPED SHORT.

Narrative: CLRED FOR ILS RWY 23L THEN ASKED TO SIDESTEP TO RWY 23R AT ABOUT 100 FT AGL WHICH PREVENTED A BRIEF OF WHAT TXWY TO EXPECT TO ROLL OUT TO. DURING HARD REVERSE THRUST, WE WERE TOLD TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 23L. I WAS AWARE THAT THE RWYS WERE CLOSE TOGETHER SO I TAXIED VERY SLOWLY TO EXIT RWY 23R AND WAS LOOKING FOR THE HOLD SHORT LINES. THEY WERE NOT WHERE I EXPECTED TO FIND THEM AND I REALIZED I HAD CROSSED THEM BY AT LEAST 5 FT AND I STOPPED. A JET THEN LANDED ON RWY 23L AND CLRED THE RWY. WE WERE TOLD TO CROSS RWY 23L AND FOLLOW THE JET. TWR OR GND NEVER MENTIONED IT SO I CALLED ON THE PHONE TO SEE IF WE WERE IN TROUBLE. THEY REPLIED, 'NO ONE IN HERE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT ANY PROB WITH YOUR FLT, HAVE A NICE DAY!' THERE WAS NO ACTION TAKEN. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR SAID THAT THE HOLD LINE FOR RWY 23L IS TOO CLOSE TO RWY 23R. HE SAID THAT HE WOULD NOT HAVE CLRED RWY 23R IF HE HAD HELD SHORT OF THE RWY 23L HOLD LINE. ACCORDING TO THIS JETSTREAM 32 CAPT, THE CTLR THAT HE CALLED AFTER THE INCIDENT SAID THE TWR IS AWARE OF THE PROB, BUT THE RWYS ARE SIMPLY TOO CLOSE TO EACH OTHER. THE CAPT ALSO RPTED THE INCIDENT TO HIS CHIEF PLT AND REQUESTED THAT THE CHIEF PLT PUT OUT A NOTICE CONCERNING THE PROB. THE CHIEF PLT SHOWED HIM A NOTICE THAT HE PUT OUT APPROX 1 YR AGO ON THIS SUBJECT. THE RPTR SAID THAT HE FOUND THIS SOMEWHAT EMBARRASSING AND HE HAS PUT THE BULLETIN TO THE OTHERS IN HIS FLT MANUAL.
