Narrative:

On jul/xa/97 at stl, our flight was returning from columbia, mo, to st louis, mo. The runway 12's were active, we had been cleared for a visual to runway 12R. We were informed of traffic at 10 O'clock which was above us. We called traffic in sight (an air carrier B737). We were asked to switch to runway 13 while on a 4 mi final and we complied. We were informed that traffic would be passing over top of us to be landing runway 12L. After we were established on final for runway 13 at 300 ft AGL, we encountered the B737's wake turbulence. We were forced to go around in the interest of safety. We were vectored back around and landed on runway 12L.
