Narrative:

While on approach into cle ILS runway 23L, from outside the marker and level at 3000 ft, we turned onto the localizer. The autoplt pitched over, the autoplt pitch trim light illuminated. We lost 300 ft of altitude, disconnected the autoplt, flew manual approach. The autoplt was written up.
