Narrative:

Climb limiting speed of '250 KTS until advised' was part of the ATC clearance as received via ACARS message. First officer was flying this leg. He accelerated to 290 KTS after passing 10000 ft. Some 4-5 mins later ZOA cleared us to 'normal speed.' we realized our mistake at this point. Center did not ask for our present speed or comment about any awareness that we were not at 250 KTS. Nothing in the SID (SFO6) that was part of the ATC clearance said anything about the 250 KT restr.

Title: AN ACR FLC OF AN LGT FAIL TO ADHERE TO A SPD LIMIT ASSIGNMENT AND ACCELERATE AFTER CLBING ABOVE 10000 FT.

Narrative: CLB LIMITING SPD OF '250 KTS UNTIL ADVISED' WAS PART OF THE ATC CLRNC AS RECEIVED VIA ACARS MESSAGE. FO WAS FLYING THIS LEG. HE ACCELERATED TO 290 KTS AFTER PASSING 10000 FT.
