Narrative:

On an IFR flight from ewr to isp. I was receiving changes to routing. I was told to proceed direct calverton VOR (117.2). I twisted in 117.7 (deer park VOR) by mistake. Approach asked me to confirm my heading. He informed me I would never arrive at calverton on that heading and vectored me to a heading of 090 degrees for traffic. Frequent routing changes in a congested and unfamiliar environment. Also, if I would have listened to the identify, I would have realized I had the wrong VOR tuned.
