Narrative:

First officer failed to level off at FL290 and went to FL293 when we received the altitude deviation warning in cockpit. I was busy changing frequencys and looking up jet route course for her. She promptly leveled back at FL290. In the future I plan to treat the time during all leveloffs from 1000 ft above or below the altitude to the planned altitude as a cockpit sterile period and not allow extraneous activities to occur.
