Narrative:

The last movement of the aircraft was at PM25 EST +15 mins as per operations manual at an out station. This gave us a release time of PM40. We reported at AM30 the next morning. It was not until after takeoff that we realized that we had reported 10 mins too soon. We had called crew scheduling the previous night, and they had assured us that we were legal. It is hard to work these time and duty regulations when you are fatigued. This trip had been particularly stressful.
