Cleared for visual approach to udd, runway 10, left traffic. Approached upwind, crosswind, downwind base, advising on 122.8 of our position. Just started turn to final and first officer yelled lookout, and helicopter passed 50-75 ft away underneath us. Major highway less than 100 yds away paralleling runway and is used as a VFR corridor through area.
