Narrative:

Ucr was filed on nov tue 1096 in response to lack of emergency portable radio communication equipment not being available to every operating position in the air traffic facility. This was discovered following a complete power loss at pit ATCT on jan wed 1996. A memo dated mar wed 1996 from the facility manager to AEA510 identing funding deficiencies as well as lack of correct number of radios. This is a very serious system safety concern to all pilots and controllers. 12 months have gone by with no new or adequate radios.

Title: A CTLR SAYS THAT A UCR WAS FILED ON THE LACK OF BACKUP (EMER PORTABLE RADIOS) FOR EVERY OPERATING POS IN THE FACILITY. THE PROB WAS DISCOVERED DURING A COMPLETE PWR LOSS IN JAN 1996. THE FACILITY MGR HAS SENT A LETTER TO THE REGIONAL OFFICE IDENTING FUNDING DEFICIENCIES AND THE NUMBER OF RADIOS NEEDED. OVER 12 MONTHS HAVE GONE BY AND NO NEW RADIOS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED.

THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SYS SAFETY CONCERN TO ALL PLTS AND CTLRS. 12 MONTHS HAVE GONE BY WITH NO NEW OR ADEQUATE RADIOS.
