Narrative:

On ground, during preflight cockpit checks and set-up, we let ourselves get rushed. (Late inbound equipment.) first officer made FMS programming error. I didn't catch it. He programmed the departure as fll direct thndr instead of fll-dhp-thndr. When departure gave us a heading to intercept the SID, the error caused us to turn towards thndr a little early. The controller caught the error and pointed it out to us.
