Narrative:

We were given a visual approach to runway 24R with the field in sight. We were instructed not to overshoot final. As we turned into the sun, we lost sight of the runway because of the haze and sun angle. We ended up overshooting final, but we had no traffic conflict. Tower stated that we were south of final when we checked in and were correcting back.
