Narrative:

We were flight planned for the napit 3G departure. Prior to taxi out the wind shifted to favor runway 7, so we were cleared for the napit 3D. The PF loaded the napit 3E SID. I noticed this and reviewed the SID communication plate and saw the note above the 'D' designation being for heavy aircraft. I looked over the page and did not see the verbal description for the napit 3D on the lower left side of the page. I thought that the ground track for the SID was the same. We took off and flew the napit 3E. After turning north at the 1.5 DME fra radar asked if we had started our turn. We replied affirmative. He immediately gave us clearance direct to metropolitan which took us directly over the noise monitor. Prior to metropolitan we were given a heading to intercept the SID outbound from metropolitan to continue the SID. I had flown the napit 3G SID many times and in that situation there is no difference in the ground track from the napit 3F, so I did not look close enough at the plate for the difference in the SID we flew.

Title: FLC OF A WDB FAILED TO TURN AS DEPICTED ON THE SID DEP CLRNC RESULTING IN ATC INTERVENTION AND VECTORS GIVEN TO THEM TO GET BACK ON PUBLISHED COURSE.

Narrative: WE WERE FLT PLANNED FOR THE NAPIT 3G DEP. PRIOR TO TAXI OUT THE WIND SHIFTED TO FAVOR RWY 7, SO WE WERE CLRED FOR THE NAPIT 3D. THE PF LOADED THE NAPIT 3E SID. I NOTICED THIS AND REVIEWED THE SID COM PLATE AND SAW THE NOTE ABOVE THE 'D' DESIGNATION BEING FOR HVY ACFT. I LOOKED OVER THE PAGE AND DID NOT SEE THE VERBAL DESCRIPTION FOR THE NAPIT 3D ON THE LOWER L SIDE OF THE PAGE. I THOUGHT THAT THE GND TRACK FOR THE SID WAS THE SAME. WE TOOK OFF AND FLEW THE NAPIT 3E. AFTER TURNING N AT THE 1.5 DME FRA RADAR ASKED IF WE HAD STARTED OUR TURN. WE REPLIED AFFIRMATIVE. HE IMMEDIATELY GAVE US CLRNC DIRECT TO METRO WHICH TOOK US DIRECTLY OVER THE NOISE MONITOR. PRIOR TO METRO WE WERE GIVEN A HDG TO INTERCEPT THE SID OUTBOUND FROM METRO TO CONTINUE THE SID. I HAD FLOWN THE NAPIT 3G SID MANY TIMES AND IN THAT SIT THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN THE GND TRACK FROM THE NAPIT 3F, SO I DID NOT LOOK CLOSE ENOUGH AT THE PLATE FOR THE DIFFERENCE IN THE SID WE FLEW.
