Narrative:

While sitting at hold line on runway 16 thv waiting to takeoff, 4 planes were in traffic pattern doing touch and goes. As the C172 was on final he announced a touch and go. The other plane reported left downwind for runway 16. As the first plane passed I pulled into position and hold for takeoff. When the first plane's wheels broke ground I began my takeoff roll. At approximately 1/3 of runway, the first plane settled back to the runway without announcing intentions. I immediately lifted off with no problems and moved to the right of the runway on climb out. It was not a very close event but I know now I should have asked the plane on downwind to extend for me to have a completely clear runway for takeoff.
