Narrative:

Cleared to descend to FL180. Copilot was flying and I advised off ATC to copy ATIS and call in-range. Copilot called 1000 ft to go and I checked this visually. Just as I was reporting back on ATC to copilot he noticed we were 200-250 ft below assigned altitude. He immediately corrected back. We were below by about 350 ft for no more than 20-30 seconds, no conflict reported. ATC then cleared us to maintain 12000 ft.
