Narrative:
Aircraft, BE20. We were asked to cross 10 mi north of buj at 5000 ft. We got busy avoiding a cell and noticed we were at 6000 ft, 12.5 NM north. I then increased my rate of descent from 1000 FPM to 2000 FPM. I was within 300 ft of my 5000 ft crossing restr at 10 NM. The controller seemed like he was in a bad mood. He questioned if we would make it down.

I THEN INCREASED MY RATE OF DSCNT FROM 1000 FPM TO 2000 FPM. I WAS WITHIN 300 FT OF MY 5000 FT XING RESTR AT 10 NM. THE CTLR SEEMED LIKE HE WAS IN A BAD MOOD. HE QUESTIONED IF WE WOULD MAKE IT DOWN.
