Narrative:

ASOS WX report clear in WX report. Thunderstorms to north and east of airport and sky 9/10 coverage with clouds. Machine did not make a special WX until 10 mins later. Meantime I had called WX service at metropolitan (a contractor) and he said to put out WX as reported by the ASOS on the ATIS. Both myself and tower supervisor thought this was not right but had no recourse. This is not the first time I felt the ASOS was wrong.
