Narrative:

Just prior to intercepting ILS runway 27 localizer on assigned heading of 300 degrees, I called for the approach checklist. Attention to approach was interrupted by an item on the checklist just as we were to intercept. We flew through localizer and just as I recognized error, ATC told us to turn left to heading 230 degrees and reintercept. They (ATC) questioned us and we told them we were correcting.
