Narrative:

The ASOS unit is calling the visibility 3 1/2 mi. 3 1/2 mi is not a rptable value. Tower visibility is 2 mi and no one is authority/authorized to augment the ASOS unit at pne to reflect this value. Nothing is being done to correct these problems. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter indicated that the controllers have received appropriate training for WX reporting and stated that they now have authority/authorized to augment the ASOS WX report.
