Narrative:

We were told to cross wallet at 6000 ft. We were at 15000 ft for cruise. We elected to stay at 15000 ft for as long as possible, for we had a smooth ride. Based upon DME from glh VOR we began a descent but, we were getting conflicting DME information. From mem VOR we were asked by ZME if we were going to make the crossing altitude. We then realized that glh VOR DME information must be a little off. We accelerated our descent to maximum but could only cross wallet by 9000 ft. At that time glh VOR DME read 72 NM.
